Some memories from Hilary Term

It was a confusing term. Mostly I got work done, made time to hang with people I cared about, and attended plenty of interesting seminars and gigs (crossover forthcoming).

We start in media res, at Halfway Hall. Three-year degrees are awfully short, especially when you’re having fun. There is action in the form of Victor doing even more field theory after he’s done with the starter.

Here’s Ben at Woodstock. I still regret not getting some honey from the houses nearby.

A walk of some sentimental value: it’s the path to St Clement’s, after all. Here it is significant to me as the first picture I take on my camera. Kuang is with me, we’re headed to a gig at The Library on Cowley Road.

The last time I was ever in Staircase 14 was probably just to throw out some rubbish before moving to Cowley for a couple of days. You were a great room.

A corollary of living in Staircase 14: St. Giles. Quick access to Jericho with its cinema, pubs, even the math department or Trinity offsite (God forbid).

I have yet to shake the habit of taking a picture of the RadCam when I walk past it. It was nice to be up at St Mary’s Church for once. You don’t realize how quickly the small, always-around opportunities you put off are less available than you think.

The UCU strikes come to define the latter part of term. Full solidarity, even if we only get our tutorials through a bureaucratic loophole separating college and departmental responsibilities for teaching.

Obligatory bird picture.
